The Creatures in My Garden

The nerdy ESOL teacher and photographer in me likes to take pictures of the creatures in my gardens, search and identify its name, and create a picture vocabulary card so I can remember. I will add more pictures as I have a chance to snap a picture of differen creatures found in my garden.

The Bad Guys

Pine Borer Beetle: 12/9/24 – My first time seeing a Pine Borer Beetle. It crawled onto my front porch from the thick layer of pine mulch bed. The PBB has a hard shell. My son stomped on the bug three times and cut half of its body and the head was still moving and front legs were still trying to crawl. Infestation of pine borer beetle can easily kill pine trees within a short period of time. Infested pine trees should be cut and burned down to avoid spreading. Prevention of the pine borer beetle is recommended. Please do further research about this pine borer beetle to protect your pine trees.
