Orange Sherbet Mango Taste Profile

After tasting at least 80 different mango varieties out of hundreds in Florida, United States, Orange Sherbet mango is one of my top 12 favorite mango varieties. I must grow an Orange Sherbet mango tree.

When fully ripen, Orange Sherbet mangos have a sweet citrusy flavor. Unripen Orange Sherbet mangos are lemony sour. Orange Sherbet mango is a variety best eaten when fully ripen. The medium size Orange Sherbet mango fruit is fiberless.

Growing in Pot

Can you grow Orange Sherbet mango trees in a pot? Yes, Orange Sherbet mango trees can be potted and fruit nicely in a 15-gallon pot. Eventually, like any mango trees, the tree will need to be up potted to a bigger pot. Large fruit tree pots are available in 15/25/35/45/65/100 gallon size pots from horticultural online companies like Greenhouse Megastore and AM Leonard. You can also search for used large pots on Facebook Marketplace.

The first time my kids and I got to taste an Orange Sherbet mango fruit was back in 2023 from a harvested fruit we picked off from my friend’s potted tree. Luke’s potted Orange Sherbet mango tree is in a 15-gallon pot.

Growing in Ground

I will be growing my Orange Sherbet mango tree in the ground. I bought a nice 5-feet tall with a straight trunk in a 7-gallon pot from Hoa’s Nursery in Apopka, Florida on June 5, 2025.
