12/7/24: Having a small yard and wanting to maximize my planting in an urban yard brings challenges and obstacles I encountered. I need to remember where the water pipes are located in the ground.
1. Sprinkler pipes in my front yard: For some years, I have wanted to reroute a sprinkler pipe section in the front yard because it was in the way of building my symmetrical garden. Asking my husband to reroute it would definitely be a “no no”.

Solution: So I took almy biggest pruner and chop the entire sprinkler section I want out into pieces. Well now, he has to fix the sprinkler pipe and might as well reroute the pipes while he is fixing it. 😂 My determination will make things happen one way or the other.
2. Storm drainage outlet: I discovered this outlet a couple of weeks ago under seven inches of dirt. There used to be an oak tree growing nearby. I had the useless and problematic oak tree taken out and grounded the stump down. The roots system took a few years to finally rot. The roots must have cracked parts of this pipe. So I hired a landscaping maintenance guy to help me repair the opening.

3. Whatever this cap is, the pipe runs in the center of my front yard connected to another outlet #4 in front of my center front window.

I used to have a wish to grow a large shade tree right in the middle of my yard but ever since I discovered there is a big pipe line that runs down the center, I gave up that idea. I need to make sure I don’t grow any tree on the center of the yard.
4. This pipe outlet connects straight down the center with #3.
