Seed seller: I purchased the seeds from Pan Asia Heirloom on Etsy
How does the Golden Cherry Hybrid Japanese tomato taste like? So far, this is my favorite cherry tomato. The fruit is fruity sweet and best when it turns orange rather than a yellowish orange. I was able to harvest about 6 quarts of cherry tomatoes from two plants stated from seed.
6/7/24: My Golden Cherry Hybrid Japanese tomato plants have been producing and giving me about a quart size full of ripe tomatoes everyday this week! So far, I do not have any pest issues for this long on time growing any tomato plant.

1.. Prepping my raised bed…

For this 2×4-ft and 12-inch high raised bed, I do need to lay landscaping fabric beneath because it’s located near a tabebuiya tree. Tabebuiya tree has shallow root system. I got lazy and didn’t lay the nursery fabric down and the tree roots crept up into my raised bed and caused my edible plants to stunt. I had to clear the bed out and ended up with two bins of just fibrous weedy roots and rope-like roots from the tabebuiya tree. Putting the landscaping fabric down has prevented that problem, but it also means I am limited to growing only edibles with a shallow root system for this 12-inch raised bed.
I filled the raised bed with the starfruit clippings, dry leaves and branches I saved from hard pruning my tree couple weeks ago, my potting mix recipes #2, mixed with fine pine mulch, with added tomato fertilizer and azomite. I neglected my tomato plants last year. I hope to get a better start and end with it this time.
Here in this raised bed are two of my favorite tomatoe variety grown from seed purchased from Pan Asia Heirloom on Etsy.
2. Companion planting: Google search for a list of companion plants to get yourself a general list. Then select what you would grow and eat as well would be practical. I have chosen to plant Thai basils, Chinese chives, and Taiwanese bunching bunching onions around the tomato plants.
